I have been singing and acting ever since I first started watching Hong Kong dramas at my auntie house as well as the Chinese /Japanese animations. My first Disney movie I watched was Snow White and Cinderella was regularly read to me at lunchtimes in preschool. My mum always told me the story of the tortoise and the hare; this taught me that no matter the competition and people around me, I should always preserve and trust in my abilities even when the road is rough. I would download HSM musicals songs on to my pink phone by recording it as a video: my favourite being the first and second one with Gabriella’s Melodramatic solos and sharpay’s glamourous pink everything. I would also adore and aspire to be like the barbies in the movie adaptations as they were portrayed to be independent and omnibenevoent. From there on, I would always sing the Chinese songs in the car and perform in school shows. Attending choir and school musicals was always necessary.
I started piano and guitar lessons then moved on to vocals and dancing. Ballet and modern was the first. Then I began commercial and street with Chinese ethnic dance soon after. My love and passion for commercial jazz and Korean hip hop soon blossomed unconditionally. This year I have re-ignited my interest in figure skating and have dedicated countless hours and patience to this art form. I have been a focused and immersive girl who has experienced things you wouldn’t really expect. I was able to achieve 7A*s and 3As (10A*s and 4As if you count each exam. My favourite were art, drama, history, religious studies, sports, science-chemistry/biology, English literature and music) for my GCSEs and was predicted all A’s and A*s for sixth form. I succeeded in roles as presenter for my Milton Keynes chinese school annual new year celebration as well as representing my school in the rock challenge international competition.
This year so far I have attended the UK MOVE IT DANCE CONVENTION as well as joining STAGECOACH performing arts school, spoken to insuituions and colleges for musical theatre, have connections to theatre directors (Brixton youth theatre) and DRAMA/theatre workshops around the UK. Meanwhile, pursuing my goals and continuing with dance (going to pineapple dance studio, school dancing e company and teams, classes locally and staying connected on social media).
