Actor Singer Teacher
I'll sleep when I'm dead' was my first professional job as an actor, the character I played was 'Big John' featuring alongside Clive Owen as one of his main men. This was a prominent role. My feedback from the Director Mike Hodges was that 'I was a joy to work with, Leo Davies was the casting director and since then we have been in contact. But I am skipping a few years so…….. I started acting in a school production when I was fourteen never really taking it seriously at that time during rehearsals I would often be late or not turn up but my acting teacher was patient, firm but fair saying, the only person that’ll look silly on that stage is you if you don’t put the effort in, I learned the hard way when I realised I only had a couple of days left to actually learn my freekin lines but I did it, and that’s where that feeling on that stage in my first performance came from, that buzz and connection to the audience started right there.
Then drama school was my next goal and coming from Bristol at the time it had to be The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School I was beside myself when I got in but it wasn’t easy. So taking my life journey back a bit from secondary school (Ashton Park School) I went to college (Filton college) where my passion for acting and singing really started to take hold, at the same time became a member of the Bristol Youth Theatre Studio where I learnt a lot about myself and basic theory.
Drama school was hard it felt like being dissected piece by piece whilst still alive, the rebuilding stage took a while to be fully completed, as that process was happening lots of knowledge questioning and confidence also formed my foundations. After drama school various parts came like The R.S.C 'Comedy of errors' I was then cast in the TV Series 'Above Suspicion' as a Lawyer then TV series Casualty. In Mount Pleasant the character I played was the love interest alongside Paula Wilcox in two episodes. Following on from that I then went on to do a few voice over sessions for various characters in the series. TV series 'Nylon' as a regular character my next role was in the film 'Double Time' staring James Dreyfus
It hasn’t always been easy and questioning myself as to why I’m I in this crazy industry when long periods of not working is part of my and everyone else’s journey as a performer.
My most recent work is Welcome 2 Karachi Bollywood film release date 21st may 2015 and i recently performed at the orange tree theatre in a play called Playmas directed by the lovely Paulette Randall, it ran until mid-April 2015, a few years back I got a part in the feature film 'Red 2' alongside Helen Mirren and it was during this time of filming I was prompted by Helen Mirren saying You are good enough and I am sure we will work together again.
With this in mind I’m always learning to better myself mentally and spiritually as an actor.
