I was in several touring companies in my 20s, then as a single mother had to stop acting professionally,
During that period I did as many 'good amateur' shows as I could, taught mask work in day or sequential workshops, and once one of a team (Arts-Council funded) producing an 'eco-opera' in local schools and a local community. I was in a show written and directed by Brian Aldiss (writer of AI), who then asked me to appear with him on BBC2; I had an immovable previous commitment! I am in Player/Playwrights and appeared in a PP showcase at the Soho theatre. I have been a member of two Oxford impro companies. I am also a 'performing poet', a member of Oxford Backroom Poets. I have a comic gift.
2012/13 I worked for Slingshot Effect in a ‘street game’, 2.8 Hours Later as one of a few ‘characters’ who interacted briefly with players as they came through. I was a bag lady, 100% impro with the public in character. I was repeatedly complimented on my performance by both directors and members of the public.
2013 and 2014: Immersive production of ‘A Picture of Dorian Gray’ in a house adapted for the show. I played 3 parts, housekeeper, duchess and oracle; mostly scripted but as the housekeeper I (with the butler) let audience members in and improvised in character for 30 min before the show. I received excellent reviews for this part.
2014: Two student short films; 1. as an private dick’s ambivalent secretary. 2. A Phd mockumentary on women in film, using dialogue from interviews with the originals. As a result of this the camera operator (not a student) has proposed a business relationship with me as actor (person and voice) and writer.
2014: May-June: understudy in a 3-hander about eating disorders with Thrice Three Muses. Performed two different roles and was very well reviewed, personally as well as for the show.
2015: University of Essex film, I played a woman with incipient dementia, trying to hide it.
Several small and extra roles in shorts and a commercial for TFL.
