The Manual Caff

SSE Space is a platform for exhibitions, events and projects, placing emphasis on the links between art and architecture. An artist-led initiative, SSE Space began in 2010 when three architecture graduates built the interior of Store Street Espresso (No. 40, Store Street) and curated a group show to coincide with the opening of the café in October 2010. SSE Space has since evolved beyond No. 40, which shows quarterly exhibitions, with a second space at No. 34 Store Street secured for six weeks from October-December 2011 for a group exhibition that opened during Bloomsbury Festival. As part of SSE Space's active facilitation of cross-disciplinary collaboration, No. 34 is also a venue for a residency programme, workshops and a lecture series initiated by the curators.
